The Audi Q7 has all what it takes to becomes a really great luxury SUV including spaciousness , power , design , quality interiors and features . Yes the Audi Q7 seems to be all excess anc probably the reason why many look at SUV's with a jaundiced eye yet are not averse to secretly lusting for one themselves . However , the cars like Q7 are at the cutting edge of the automotive business and this edge has been further sharpened to cut many a nay sayer to size . The latest iteration of the Q7 proves this in some measure . It has the same large 2967 cc DOHC 24-valve turbocharge V6 engine for India but it is now not just more powerful and torquey but it is also even more cleaner and has better fuel efficiencyto deny SUV-bashers a leg to trample on it , that is if they are brave enough to stand in front of this butch beauty .

When you will look at it , you will notice that the second-gen Q7  looks smaller than its predecessor.  To be precise its a 370mm shorter in length and 15mm narrower too , but the height is still the same . The new Q7 has less visual mass than before . Skinning is tight , the pronounced feeders add muscle and there are crisp clean lines everywhere  , but that imposing presence of the old Q7 is missing here . Viewed from rear , it looks more like a station wagon , than big , burly wagon . The Q7 shares a number of components with the Volkswagen toureg  and the Porsche cayenne. It offers seating for seven . It has dual front , side and side-curtain air bags are fitted as standard . Regardless of engine choice , the behemoths are limited to 130mph top speed . ABS and EBD-enhanced four-wheel ventilated disc brakes are also standard , though the prestige trim comes with upgraded brakes for maximum stopping power. 


A mid-life tweak made the engines a little more parsimonious , with the start-stop equipped 3.0 TDI returning 39.2mpg average(in 204bhp) . For a car so chunky , that's not bad-but really its the only way to reasonable running costs in a Q7 . Audi's ditched the thirsty old petrol engines but the one non-By alternative , the 4.2 TDI V8 isn't much better than they were , at 30.7mpg . At least all Q7 are now decently equipped , with must-have leather and other exotic goodies are now standard . The torque is available between 1500 to 3000rpm . Audi claims that the Q7 can shoot from naught to 100kmph in 6.3 seconds . 



The engine comes with a vaporization technology that let's the engine run at under 1000rpm when needed , by using very little fuel . Tech like this and a start-stop mechanism , along with the right savings and a drag coefficient of just 0.32 contribute to a claimed fuel economy of 17.5kmpl . The new Q7 is a massive step forward from the previous model . Faster , lighter , more agile , more spacious , prettier , slipperier , packed full of techno-wizardry : in every conceivable are the new car is a big , very big improvement.
